  1. Diane says:

I am an MT. I continue to hear perineal numbness or anesthesia, which is what I use, but I see it is spelled perineural numbness. What is the difference?

    • Terri says:

      perineal:
the area in front of the anus extending to the fourchette of the vulva in the female and to the scrotum in the male.

      perineural:
occurring about or surrounding nervous tissue or a nerve.

perineal (above) is often confused by MT’s for the word peroneal, which relates to the ankle. If your dictator is describing pain or anesthesia in and around the ankle or foot, you need to be using peroneal:
of, relating to, or located near the fibula.

  2. Donboy says:

who made your medical transcription web site.

  3. Terri says:

A private company made my web site. I have been very pleased with their services.

  4. Becky says:

Does anyone do editing for voice recognition? Dragon or other? If so, how did you get started and can you do this home-based?

    • Dallas says:

I’m curious about this too. My office uses dragon and a lot of the dictation has to be redone and often times gets “lost.” Where does it go?
